HDBD continues to achieve impressive results both inside and outside the courtroom. Here are a few of our most recent verdicts.
  • Scott Edwards and his co-counsel won a defense verdict for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC in a four-week jury trial in Nashville, TN. 
  • Darrell Barger, Brian Rawson and Stephanie Roark successfully defended Tutle & Tutle Trucking, Inc. and one of its drivers in a three-week jury trial in Johnson County, TX involving a truck crash.  [Read more]
  • Jeff Patterson and Adrienne Russell scored a victory for Nissan Forklift Corporation, North America (NFC) in a federal jury trial in St. Louis, MO involving the termination of a dealership agreement.  [Read more]
  • Darrell Barger and Kristina Culley secured a defense verdict for a property management company after a two-week trial in Houston, TX.
Once again, a substantial number of HDBD attorneys have earned recognition from their peers by being selected for inclusion on the Texas Super Lawyers® list. Eleven of the firm's attorneys received this recognition for 2013, including Darrell Barger, Richard Crews and Mike Terry, who have each been selected for over ten consecutive years. Partners Larry Grayson and Deron Wade made their first appearance on this year's list. Both were selected in the field of Personal Injury Defense. Others chosen for the list again this year include partners Kyle Dreyer, Scott Edwards, Vernon Hartline, Charles Lyman and Jeff Patterson. Kyle Dreyer was recently chosen by his peers as a 2014 "Lawyer of the Year" in the field of Personal Injury Litigation-Defendants and Product Liability Litigation-Defendants. Attorneys selected as "Lawyer of the Year" are part of the annual Texas Best Lawyers list published by The Best Lawyers in America. Inclusion in Texas Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 50,000 leading attorneys cast almost 1.5 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas. Scott Edwards has been selected for his second consecutive year as a D Magazine "Best Lawyer" in Tort, Product & Medical Liability (formerly Tort and Product Liability.) Jeff Patterson was also chosen as a 2013 "Best Lawyer" for D Magazine in Tort, Product & Medical Liability Litigation. This is his third consecutive year to be featured in the Best Lawyers edition. Selim Fiagome selected for this year's "Amos T. Hall Award"
Selim was one of four recipients of the 2013 Amos T. Hall Award from the Northeast Oklahoma Black Lawyers Association. Attorneys honored with this award strive to increase diversity in the legal profession and help educate minority students about the law. Amos T. Hall was the first African American to be elected judge in Oklahoma and became one of the state's most significant civil rights lawyers.
Selim helped create the Pipeline+ Program, an educational program that assists minority high school students interested in pursuing legal careers, and provides scholarships to Oklahoma law students through the Amos T. Hall Scholarship program.

Brad Robinson joined the firm after gaining experience as a litigator at a mid-size Dallas-based law firm. His practice focuses on products liability, premises liability, and employment litigation. [Read more]

Sandy Reinhardt, firm administrator for fourteen years, retires; Bill Nugent takes over as firm administrator.
Sandy Reinhardt, HDBD’s firm administrator for many years, recently retired. She played a vital role in making sure the firm ran smoothly. Her countless hours of hard work behind the scenes allowed HDBD’s attorneys to focus on delivering successful results for their clients. We will miss her, and won’t soon forget her loyalty and dedication to the firm. Bill Nugent has taken over Sandy’s role as firm administrator. He comes to us with many years of experience in law firm environments. We’re excited to have him on board, and anticipate that he will be a great asset to the firm.

Larry Grayson and Victoria Ryon present webinar for DRI Product Liability Committee on Distracted Driving.
Larry and Victoria recently gave a joint webcast presentation on distracted driving. They covered a number of timely issues, including: risks of distraction with the emergence of cell phones, smart phones, and navigation and other electronic devices; how legislative and executive bodies, courts and corporations have addressed these issues; and strategic implications of such evidence in defending product liability cases.

On October 23, 2013, Kyle was a panel speaker for a presentation in New York City titled, Outside Counsel RelationshipsSelection, Communication and Collaboration: Effectively Managing, Fostering and Strengthening the Client-Law Firm Relationship so as to Ensure the Alignment of Interests and Mutual Success.
