Ben is a Dallas native. After graduating with a BA from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst), Ben moved to DC and worked as a contractor at the Federal Aviation Administration headquarters, in the Office of International Aviation, Asia Desk. This was a diplomatic-style position in which he worked with civil aviation authorities from all over Asia and the Pacific Rim. He also worked with the Departments of Commerce, State, and Defense.
After briefly returning to Dallas to receive his J.D. from the SMU Dedman School of Law, Ben moved back to the DC area and worked in commercial real estate for a Fortune 100 sized telecommunications company. At the request of the company, he started a law firm and consultancy to engage in progressively higher level work that included representing the company as outside counsel.
With Texas on his mind, Ben returned to Dallas to work in commercial litigation on behalf of airlines, energy companies, and tech companies. Ben also successfully defended a Fortune 500 company in the BP Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill litigation.
Outside of his practice, Ben edits law school textbooks and maintains an interest in real estate development.
